NEVER try to argue with the person that's trying to help you!

Especially if that person knows more about computers than you do. For instance, I was trying to help my dumbass of a father set up a hotmail account today, and my mom said something about their old email address appearing on the page where it says "Sign in". So my dad thought that we'd be able to sign in using that. So I had to humor him and when I go to type in their password he's like "Why did you use a password? We don't HAVE a password!" And I tried explaining to him that they set up a password when they signed up for Windstream, and that Outlook Express automatically uses that password to log them in, and he STILL denies having a password. So it came to me shouting "You're STUPID!" It was totally justified because he WAS being stupid about not listening to me when I was trying to tell him what I know. And that brings me to another thing, it seems like he has this idea that he knows more than I do, which is false. He has to ask me how to spell simple words which anyone with even a grade school education would be able to figure out on their own. So then he starts calling me stupid! That's rich! That's probably the only rebuttal he can think of. He couldn't have said anything intelligent to try to prove me wrong. He just had to go and say the equivalent of "No, YOU'RE stupid!" And I even tried to tell him, "Well, who's the one who's been trying to solve YOUR computer problems this whole time?" and he STILL insists that I don't know what I'm doing. Yeah, he's one of THOSE! There's no reasoning with people like that, I ought to just have him thrown in the home.
