Maybe all the drug-user haters will change their minds after they see this!
If not, then we have nothing to say to each-other. You are my enemy. People like you are the reason Liz's life was so hard, and I'm blaming YOU for what happened to her!

I think about Liz a lot. I still can't believe she did it. How long did you know her?
ReplyDeleteThe first time I met her was in Elgin Community College maybe 5-6 years ago, but back then I didn't really know her that well. But, that's when I first developed a crush on her. Back then, I think she was in the process of breaking up with Scott McCarty. The class was Drawing 102 with Edwin Myers. Well, midway through the class she and Scott stopped showing up. It wouldn't be until just 2 years ago that I would bump into her Facebook profile online, and I sent her a message telling her who I was and where I knew her from. A little after that we started talking to each other very often online, and that's when we learned we had a lot in common. Well, we did get a chance to get together finally, and me and my friend Chris treated her to smoothies.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I can say is, from reading her Livejournal, she seemed more confident years ago than when I first met her in college than when she was going to college in Dekalb. I would always be trying to cheer her up and help her out any way I could.
The part that bugs me the most is that she didn't do anything wrong, and society treated her like a criminal. But she was a good friend, and she had a beautiful mind. I feel like there's so much more I could have learned from her.
She did have a beautiful mind. She also made a lot of bad choices. I used to spend a lot of time with her when we were both homeless in Elgin.
